After surgery (1/2)
After surgery, it is important to follow your
surgeon's recommendations, for example:
-
Wear a splint for the time needed for tissue healing,
-
Start mobilizing your new joint to ensure good blood circulation,
restore mobility and facilitate the recovery process.
Living with a prosthesis requires, especially in the first weeks after surgery,
some precautions to avoid possible complications
(tingling, motor disorders, persistent pain...).
Among these:
-
Avoid movements with too large amplitude,
-
Limit carrying heavy loads,
-
Avoid repetitive movements.
Any abnormal pain, unexpected limitation of
range of motion or variation in prosthesis performance
once fixation is complete and rehabilitation is finished, should be reported to a doctor.
