The investigation
This is the main part of the patient's examination. Only they can
define the characteristics of the pain felt and its
classification as mechanical or non-mechanical arthritic pain.
The clinical examination
It involves examining the painful joints. It looks for:
- the presence of pain on palpation,
- joint deformities,
- reduced range of motion.
The diagnosis
Based on the consultation results, your doctor may suggest several types of
medical treatments prior to possible surgery.
These aim to reduce pain through the use of painkillers and/or anti-inflammatories.
